HyperFrames Video Blueprint is an AI skill that turns a video idea into a production-ready plan: timed beats, scene cards, the assets and audio you'll need, and a checklist to judge the finished video against. It's a planning adaptation of HyperFrames, HeyGen's open-source framework for rendering video from HTML — and it's deliberate about one thing: it plans the video; it doesn't render it.

What it does

Most videos that go wrong were never clearly planned. The brief was a sentence, the scenes were improvised, and nobody agreed on what "done" meant. This skill fills in all of that before production starts.

It picks one route. A ten-second logo sting, a product launch video, and a captioned interview clip are different jobs. The skill chooses one suitable route for your idea instead of blending them — the same thinking behind HyperFrames' own router, which sends every request to a specific creation workflow.

It develops two creative directions. You get two distinct directions to choose between, rather than a single take you either accept or argue with.

It builds a timed blueprint. The video is broken into beats with timing, and each scene gets a card describing what's on screen, what moves, and what's heard — a written storyboard you can hand to whoever builds it.

It covers the parts that quietly break productions. Continuity between scenes, a full asset list, audio, accessibility, and the risks worth knowing about up front.

It ends with acceptance checks. Concrete criteria for deciding whether the finished video matches the plan — agreed before anything gets made, not argued about afterwards.

If you want a finished video, use HyperFrames. If you want to know exactly what you're making before anyone writes HTML or opens an editor — or you'll produce the video with a different tool entirely — the Blueprint is the step before.

What's actually inside

One skill. No connectors, no API keys, no rendering engine. The adaptation is self-contained, so it doesn't need the HyperFrames repository or any of its tooling installed.

Setting it up

The GitHub route (the original). HyperFrames installs its skills into a coding agent with npx skills add heygen-com/hyperframes --full-depth, and the quickstart covers the manual path: npx hyperframes init, then preview and render. You'll need Node.js 22 or later and FFmpeg installed first. It's a capable pipeline — the renderer steps through every frame in headless Chrome and encodes the result with FFmpeg, so the same input produces the same video — and it's a lot of setup when what you need today is a plan.

The Taku route. Open the Blueprint in Taku and describe your video. No Node, no FFmpeg, no repository.

When you're ready to render, the blueprint gives HyperFrames — or whatever tool you use — a far better brief than a one-line idea.

Who made it

HyperFrames is an open-source project from HeyGen, released under the Apache 2.0 license and inspired by Remotion. HyperFrames Video Blueprint is a planning adaptation published to the Taku marketplace by Siyu Zhong.

You don't need to be technical to use this

You don't need to understand GitHub, Codex, or Claude Code to plan a video with this skill. The original is built for coding agents and a command line, which makes sense for a rendering engine and is an unnecessary hurdle for someone who just needs a solid plan.
