The Trip Was Great. The Photos Didn't Get the Memo.

AI Agents & Tools

You get home from a trip and open your camera roll.

The places are there. The people are there. But the light is flat, the sky looks dull, and the photos don't quite carry the feeling you wanted to keep.

You could spend an evening learning how to edit them. You could open a full photo editor and start adjusting exposure, color temperature, curves, and color balance.

Or you could start with a simpler question: what would this photo look like with a different mood?

That's the idea behind LOOKS, an AI photo-editing tool available through Taku:

  • Pick a photo you already have.
  • Choose a look, such as Golden Hour, Blue Hour, or Neon Rain.
  • Let AI apply it, then compare the result with your original.

It runs in your browser as a Taku Site, so there's nothing to install. Here's how it works and how to get the most out of it.

Sometimes you know the feeling before you know the settings

Photo-editing tools often ask you to think in adjustments.

How warm should the image be? How much contrast does it need? What should happen to the shadows?

Those controls are useful when you know what you're trying to achieve. Professional colorists spend years learning color grading for exactly that reason. But for a casual photo, your intention is usually less technical: warmer, softer, more cinematic, or closer to the atmosphere you remember.

LOOKS gives you a place to start with that intention.

Its built-in styles offer different visual directions for the same image:

LookInspired byWorth trying on
Golden HourThe warm, low light of the golden hour just after sunrise or before sunsetFlat daytime shots, beaches, portraits that feel cold
Blue HourThe cool twilight of the blue hourCityscapes, evening scenes, quiet landscapes
Neon RainAs the name suggests, a vivid, neon-lit night moodNight streets, lights, urban shots

Rather than deciding every adjustment upfront, you choose a direction and see whether it suits your photo.

The result still needs your judgment. A dramatic look might suit a city street and overwhelm a quiet portrait. A warmer treatment might make one photo feel inviting and another feel unnatural.

Choosing a style starts the experiment. Looking closely at the result is what makes it yours.

One photo can have more than one good version

We often talk about editing as if every photo has a single correct result.

For technical corrections, you may have a clear target. But mood is personal. The version you want for a travel diary might differ from the one you'd share in a story or use as a phone background.

LOOKS lets you explore those possibilities without starting from a detailed editing recipe.

A photo with muted colors could be worth trying with a warmer look. A night scene might invite a cooler or more vivid treatment. Sometimes the best discovery is that a subtle change works better than the most striking option.

The before-and-after preview helps you compare the edit with your original. That comparison is worth spending time on:

  • Do you still like the skin tones?
  • Did the details survive?
  • Does the change serve the image, or just make it louder?

You don't have to keep the most dramatic result.

How to try LOOKS

LOOKS is available as a Taku Site, so you can open it in your browser without installing the Taku desktop app. You can also find it in the Sites section of the Taku Marketplace.

The process begins with a photo:

  1. Choose your image. The page accepts JPG, PNG, and WebP files up to 20 MB. If your file is bigger, a local tool like Squoosh can shrink it first.
  2. Pick a look. Start with a built-in style that fits the mood you want to explore.
  3. Apply the edit. Sign in to generate the result.
  4. Compare it with the original. Decide what you like and whether another direction would work better.

Two details matter before you begin.

First, the style-tile previews are local approximations. They give you a sense of direction, but they aren't the final AI-generated edit. Judge the finished result, not just the preview.

Second, applying a look uploads your photo to Taku's servers, and generating an edit is a paid action on your account. You can see how that works on the pricing page. Choose an image you're comfortable uploading.

Start with a photo you almost like

For a first attempt, choose an image you already care about.

It might have a composition you like but lighting that feels flat. It might capture a good moment without quite having the atmosphere you wanted.

That gives you something specific to evaluate. You're not asking whether AI can produce an impressive image in general. You're asking whether this treatment improves a photo that matters to you. (If you'd rather generate a new image from scratch, that's a different job; prompt-based tricks like the Gemini Polaroid prompt are built for that.)

It also helps to keep expectations focused. A different color mood won't rescue every problem in a picture. Missed focus, awkward framing, or lost detail will still be there. The useful question is what this particular edit changes, and whether you prefer it.

There's no need to turn your whole camera roll into a project. Start with one image and one look.

Why we're sharing it on Taku

At Taku, we want to highlight apps with a purpose you can understand before reading a long feature list.

LOOKS is a good example: bring a photo, explore a style, and decide whether you like the result.

Having it available as a Site makes that introduction more direct. You can go from reading about the tool to opening it in your browser and trying your own image.

Taku is in Beta, and we're continuing to improve the experience. Honest feedback matters. If a preview is unclear, an edit takes longer than expected, or a result doesn't match the direction you chose, those are useful things to tell us.

A polished sample can show a possibility. Your own photo tells you whether that possibility is useful.

FAQ

What is LOOKS?

LOOKS is an AI photo-editing tool on Taku. You upload a photo, choose a visual style such as Golden Hour, Blue Hour, or Neon Rain, and AI applies that mood to your image. A before-and-after view lets you compare the edit with the original.

Do I need to install anything to use LOOKS?

No. LOOKS is published as a Taku Site, so it runs in your browser. You'll need to sign in with Taku to generate an edit.

What file types does LOOKS support?

JPG, PNG, and WebP images up to 20 MB.

Is my photo uploaded?

Yes. Applying a look uploads the photo to Taku to generate the edit. The style-tile previews are generated locally, but the final result is not, so pick an image you're comfortable uploading.

Will an AI look fix a blurry or badly framed photo?

No. LOOKS changes the color mood of a photo. Focus, framing, and lost detail stay as they are.

Give that almost-good photo another look

There's probably a photo in your camera roll you haven't deleted but haven't shared, either.

The moment was worth keeping. You're just not quite happy with the image yet.
